Instructional Design

Education is not what it used to be, and we need to stop pretending like it is. COVID-19 turned how we were used to teaching upside down, now it is time to capitalize on what we learned and put it into action. My blended learning Algebra 1 course will give a preview of what learning could look like both inside and outside of the classroom, using some of the countless tools available to us.

Implementation

Establishing online norms for graduate levels student versus doing so for middle school students transitioning to high school students is a bit of an adjustment. What we think is a natural progression could lead to a scavenger hunt. My implementation video below runs through how I felt was the best way to organize my Algebra 1 course for my audience.

Usability Reflection

The educators are the experts, they've been on both sides of the classroom, student and teacher. They have experience, anecdotes, and suggestions. And plus, they're on my side. Blended learning aside, with any initiative you need support and confidence. The link below to my usability reflection will take a deeper dive into some feed-forward and feedback I received from two stakeholders within my organization surrounding my blended learning buildout.
