Being a leader is not easy. Some say there are such things as natural born leaders, some would argue you can develop into one. I tend to see both sides. The eight components of the crucial conversation process lay out some of what it takes to be able to be a successful leader. A self-differentiated leader has to be able acknowledge what is going on around them while continuing to trust their instincts that they are putting their members in the best position possible to be successful. I believe adaptability is one of the most important components of a good leader, this starts with being receptive to feedback.

Sabotage is not as negative as the natural connotation gives off in this instance. If a new leader is taking over that means that some sort of change is needed. And if change is happening then you are naturally going to have parties going against you. Having crucial conversations is a hot topic in the world we live in right now, particularly when working with students who looks to us as role models. It is important to be prepared prior to ensure that you are able to get your point across and relate it to the audience.

For my innovation plan, I need to focus on differentiated leadership. I need to be able to stick to the blended learning initiative while seeing the differences that my peers have in the classrooms and making the necessary changes along the way.
