The more invested in the learning the learner is, whether it be ourselves or our students, the more successful we/they are going to be. Creating authentic learning projects such as what we are doing in this program really provides value and meaning. The COVA model is extremely appealing to me as a learner as I can approach everything we do throughout this program with a secondary mathematics lens and really visualize each thing we cover in my classroom. With that said, I struggle trying to project a COVA model in a high school setting as the students are so different from one another and lack motivation at times. However, the student-centered aspect can certainly be applied to give ownership of the learning.

When developing my voice in my ePortfolio, I want to ensure that everything I discuss can be applied to various settings. As a teacher, coach, but also a colleague, I want to be able to share my findings/experiences to all that are interested. One challenge I face personally is coming up with authentic learning opportunities for my students to ensure that they are continuing to learn the necessary concepts. I feel confident in my ability in utilizing technology effectively to enhance learning rather than just using it as a tool. Additionally, although personal learning plans are ideal and I know they would lead to success, doing this for 150 students would be a mighty plunge and is certainly intimidating. As Dr. H discussed, we do learn best when we are out of our comfort zone.
